Camel Ski School sits on the Camel Estuary in Rock, one of Cornwall’s most beautiful stretches of water and offers a hen do that can be as adventurous or as relaxed as the group wants. Watersports in the morning, champagne on a private beach, a BBQ on the water’s edge, Padstow for the evening. All of it, some of it, or something in between. We will make it work.

Most hen do’s follow the same script. This one doesn’t. Whether the group wants waterskiing and wakeboarding followed by bubbles on a private beach, a relaxed morning paddleboarding on the estuary, or an adreline fueled ride on the Banana Boat, we can put it together. Who is it for?
The bride who wants an adventure
Waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing and inflatable rides on the Camel Estuary. If the group wants speed, the estuary delivers it. A brilliant choice for any hen that wants something physical and exciting. A day that works well for everyone - whether a seasoned skier or first timer.
The full day out
Start with paddleboarding, move onto waterskiing, try wakeboarding, finish on the inflatables. A full session gives the group the chance to work through the whole range of watersports on offer rather than committing to one thing and wondering what the rest felt like. Mix it, match it, try everything. There is plenty of time and plenty of water.
The relaxed morning on the water
Paddleboarding and kayaking on a calm Camel Estuary with some of North Cornwall's best scenery as the backdrop is the perfect setting for any hen party. Gentle enough for everyone in the group, beautiful enough for the photos do the talking.
Completely bespoke
Tell us what she loves, what the group is like and how long you have. We will build an entire event to suit. A mix of activities, games, a BBQ on the beach and champagne in the evening. Her day, her way.

Every session follows strict safety protocols. Our instructors are certified in water safety and first aid. Equipment is checked before each lesson and maintained to the highest standard. We read the water conditions and adjust sessions accordingly.

What hen do activities do you offer?
We offer waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking and inflatable rides on the Camel Estuary. Sessions can be tailored to mix activities across the group so everyone tries something different, or focused on one activity if that is what the bride wants. Get in touch and we will work out the best combination for your group.
Do you need experience to take part?
None whatsoever. Our activities range from inflatable rides, which require nothing except holding on and a reasonable sense of humour, through to waterskiing and wakeboarding for those who want more of a challenge. Our instructors are experienced at working with mixed ability groups and will make sure everyone has a good time.
Can we book the whole session exclusively for our group?
Yes. Get in touch directly to discuss a group booking and we will arrange a session that works for your numbers and the activities you want to do.
Can we mix activities across the session?
Yes, and we would encourage it. A hen do session works particularly well when the group gets to try a range of things rather than sticking to one activity. Get in touch to discuss what combination works best for your group size, time available and what the bride actually wants to do.
Are there changing facilities and toilets?
Most clients change on the Pontoon outside the School, so please bring towels/Dry Robes to enable this. However, we do have one shared changing room for those who prefer more formal facilities, but please be aware this may be full on busier days. Please note, we cannot hold any personal belongings in the office for you during your session so please bear this in mind when deciding what to bring with you.
Unfortunately we do not have any toilets for client use. The nearest public toilets are in the Rock Quarry Car Park at the end of Rock Road.
Do you have lockers?
We do however have a number of small lockers available for clients which are ideal for storing a small bag and personal belongings in when you are on the water.
Is there a Café/bar?
Yes, our Après Ski Café sells a selection of hot and cold drinks, toasted bagels, pastries, cakes, crisps and snacks – perfect for breakfast or a light lunch. Outside seating available with views over the Estuary or takeaway to enjoy on the beach or boat.
What about equipment?
We have absolutely everything you will need to enjoy your time on the water with us including a huge range of thick wetsuits, waterskis and buoyancy aids – all included in the price of your session. Just bring yourself and some swimmers. However, it is best to wear your own wetsuit if you have one.
What about parking?
There is parking at the Rock Quarry Car Park at the end of Rock Road, about 320 metres beyond Camel Ski School. It is open 24 hours and parking fees apply. Payment by card or RingGo – Location Code: 15661. Please allow plenty of time to park before your session, especially in the busy holiday seasons.
How far in advance do we need to book?
As early as possible. Summer weekends in Cornwall book up fast and hen group enquiries for peak season can come in months ahead. If you have a date in mind, get in touch sooner rather than later.
Where are you based?
We are on the Camel Estuary at The Pontoon, Rock Road, Rock, Cornwall, PL27 6LD. Rock is a short ferry ride from Padstow, which makes it easy to combine a morning on the water with an evening across the estuary for food and drinks.
Can spectators come along?
Yes. Not everyone has to take part and anyone who would rather watch is welcome. It also tends to be what convinces the ones who said they definitely weren’t doing it to have a go.
Can we add extras like champagne or a beach BBQ?
We offer a range of add-ons including champagne packages and beach BBQs. Get in touch to discuss what is available and we will put something together that fits the day you have in mind.
